Armadillo 3D Model

ZBrush, Maya, 2024

For this project, I was given a mesh of an armadillo generated by photogrammetry, which is a method of creating highly detailed 3d models using information obtained through photographs. It is an effective way to retain reliable imagery from the physical world, although the resulting 3d models can sometimes end up with holes, floating pieces, and an excessively high polycount. To clean up the model, I separated the mesh and deleted the floating pieces, and reduced the polycount by retapologizing in Maya. I then brought the mesh into ZBrush, further refining the details and adding texture, and exported a high resolution displacement map.
