Trigeminal Nerve Neuralgia Surgery

Trigeminal nerve neuralgia

I was tasked by the University of Rochester Medical Center – Neurosurgery to develop a dedicated page for the craniotomy patient education booklet focused on trigeminal neuralgia, a chronic facial pain condition caused by vascular compression of the trigeminal nerve. For this project, I was responsible for both the layout design and the medical illustrations depicting the condition and its surgical treatment.

How Can I Prevent Blood Clots?

Blood clots

Blood clots are a common postoperative complication. They most often form in the legs as deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and, in more serious cases, can travel to the lungs and cause a pulmonary embolism. This page in the patient education book introduces the condition and outlines strategies for prevention. I was tasked with updating and improving the existing illustrations to enhance clarity and patient understanding.
